It can never be overemphasized how important it is that your cats take in a lot of water to help keep their kidneys healthy. They tend to not drink enough on their own, so encouraging higher intake any way you can is a good habit to get into. Some cats love drinking from a running faucet, and other cats like my Misty like to drink from their human's cup with their paws. Of course, each time this happens I have to get a new glass, LOL. You know where else those paws have been! My cats like drinking from cups so much that I have a non-tippy one filled with water sitting next to some of their bowls of water. I have to explain to new pet sitters that yes, the cups are water for the cats and please rinse and refill them. To help all of my cats get more water, I recently purchased a pet water fountain. I've had one in the past but the last time I tried to replace it the cats were scared to death of it due to the sound. Here's the link to it. https://amzn.to/3Nnmf1C BTW, it is an affiliate link so if you purchase within 24 hours of clicking on it I'll get a few cents of the purchase price to put towards kitty care costs. This was super easy to set up and came with three filters. See the following photos for what was in the box and the final product up and running. The best feature of this little fountain is that it is nearly silent! That's a big deal for the cats. They're not doing to drink from it if the noise annoys them. I had several curious kitties checking it out right away. Fingers crossed they fall in love with it. I've already decided to buy a second one so I can have one in two different areas of the house. Since there are several cats in the house, they like to have options as to where they drink and dine - either in the thick of things or in a quieter location. Do you use a pet fountain for your cats? If you reply to this email I'll see it and will answer back. 113 Cherry St #92768, Seattle, WA 98104-2205 |

The Catnip Life Newsletter June 3, 2023 - The Vet Visit Edition Lucky, post-recovery from a scary vet visit. Lucky, the feral kitten I found in my yard last fall, had a date with the vet for his neuter surgery a couple of weeks ago. It did not go well. Poor guy was terrified. I wrote all about it in a Medium article, link at the end, but I'd like to list a...
